Steps to Sustainable Water
 

Rain Harvesting Pty Ltd has developed the following practical guide to creating a complete and sustainable water supply system. This guide will help you design and plan the implementation of a system that optimises water quality and reduces maintenance.

   
 
1. ROOF SURFACE
Ensure the roof surface is suitable for collecting quality rainwater. Click for more information.
2. GUTTER STANDARDS
Ensure roof gutters are installed to the appropriate standards and building codes with regulation fall to the outlets. Click for more information.
3. GUTTER SYSTEMS
Install a fire proof gutter mesh system to prevent leaves and debris from blocking gutters. Click for more information.
4. GUTTER OUTLETS
Fit gutter outlets to the underside of the roof gutter to minimise sludge build up. Click for more information.
5. RAIN HEADS

Fit rain heads to downpipes to deflect leaves and debris. Click for more information.
6. INSECT PROOFING
Fit insect proof screens or flap valves to all pipes that hold water ("wet" systems) and all pipes and openings to/from the tank Click for more information.
7. FIRST FLUSH WATER DIVERTERS
Fit appropriately sized First Flush Water Diverter/s. Click for more information.
8. WATER STORAGE, TANK 'TOP-UP' & PUMP SYSTEMS
Choose a water storge vessel. Utilise a tank 'top-up' system if required (such as the Dual Water Supply System from Rain Harvesting Pty Ltd). Select a pump system (if required). Click for more information.
9. AEROBIC ZONE
Draw water for usage from the aerobic zone. Click for more information.
10. SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
