Not only do the rain heads from Rain Harvesting prevent leaves and debris from blocking gutters and entering downpipes, they also keep mosquitoes, pests and other vermin out of the pipe system to the tank. It is a legislative requirement of many jurisdications, that non-corrosive screens of no more than 1mm aperture must be fitted to prevent mosquitoes entering all downpipes that hold water in "wet" systems.
The Leaf Eater, Leaf Beater and Leaf Catcha rain heads include two screens - one to deflect leaves and debris, and the other 0.955mm stainless steel screen to prevent mosquitoes accessing the pipe system.
