The final step is to create a hole in the tank surface and fit the Transmitter. It is important to select a position on the top of the tank that ensures there are no obstructions to the ultrasonic path of the Transmitter. This zone of sensitivity must be kept clear and unobstructed to ensure the Transmitter provides an accurate reading.
Tools required will vary depending whether you are fitting to a poly/plastic, fibreglass, metal or concrete tank, however typically all that is required is:
- a drill and drill bit or hole saw to create a hole between 20-30mm diameter
- a Philips/Hex head screwdriver or drill bit
Self tapping screws may be required for metal tanks and masonary screws for concrete tanks. The stainless steel screws provided with the Rain Alert are suitable for fitting to most poly/plastic or fibreglass tanks.
